ALPINE WATERS
OF LAKE ZELL
There's something so relaxing about watching the sun glisten on fresh alpine waters, or hearing waves gently lap against a lakes' shores. That's why heading to the waters of Lake Zell is one of our favourite things to do irrespective of season. Whether that's to grab a morning coffee and walk along the pristine shores; take an afternoon dip after a long hike, or spend the day bathing in the summer sun, the opportunities are endless. There are plenty of access points where you can jump in the lake for a swim, and bathing areas around the lake where you can relax for hours in the sun. Our nearest bathing area is Haus Gabi, just 5 minutes from the chalet, with a lakeside bathing area, cafe, play park & volley ball pitch.

With its 25m sports pool, large children's pool, and 40m slide, it has something for the whole family. The mother/child area with its baby pool and play stream is great for families with younger children, and the beach volleyball pitch offers entertainment for the more active amongst us who like to mix a bit of sport with relaxation. LAKESIDE
SWIMMING POOLS
The numerous lakeside swimming pools around Lake Zell are also a must for anyone on their summer holiday in the area. The infinity pool at the Thumersbach lido is a favourite, where you can take a dip in the pool whilst watching the sun shimmering on Lake Zell. The Beach Club here serves tasty food and cocktails and has its own sand beach, which is great for those lazy afternoons in the summer sun. The Zell am See lido is just a short walk for the old historic centre of Lake Zell, with pools, a slide and a diving platform in the lake. The Shuttdorf lido offer similar pool facilities, as well as windsurfing, kayak and SUP rental opportunities. Why don't you try them all on your summer holiday here!

WILD SWIMMING
IN NATURE
In our opinion, there's nothing better than going on a long summers hike or mountain bike ride and stumbling across a freshwater alpine lake that you can jump in to for a refreshing swim. The sense of freedom you feel whilst swimming in an alpine lake in the wilderness is incredibly exhilarating. We always carry a pair of swimmers in our hiking rucksacks for that very reason, and look forward to the hikes where we can go for a cheeky wild swim. Paddling in the many waterfalls near here is also a favourite. We'd recommend you try it if you haven't tried it before, and can give you advice on some of our favourite spots. Naturally extra care has to be taken though when swimming in these sorts of waters.
