The area of Zell am See has so much to offer for adults and children alike. We know how stressful it can be, though, to continuously think of ways to keep your kids entertained. To help ease the load, use this guide of our recommended top ways to entertain your children whilst on holiday in Zell am See this summer.

Go for a dip in a local swimming pool

If you or your children like swimming, you'll be spoilt for choice when trying to figure out which pool to visit first in the area. Here are some of our favourite outdoor swimming pools that should make the cut:

  • Bruck swimming pool: Within walking distance of the Landhaus Bergner Alm chalet, this is a must when holidaying in the area. The pool is spacious, with an adventure slide, water features and a sports pool. Prices are competitive, with an adult day ticket costing just €6 and a child's ticket costing just €3. The views of the Bruck castle from the pool are pretty impressive too!

  • Piesendorf swimming pool: The Piesendorf Hinkelsteinbad is a nice alternative to the Bruck pool. We personally really like this pool as it's set in a quiet location, with panoramic mountain views. There is enough to keep the whole family entertained, with a couple of pools, a water slide, water features, a mini golf area, ping pong, and a children's playground.

  • Thumersbach swimming pool: The Strandbad Thumersbach is a beautiful swimming area between the lake and Thumersbach park, with a sand beach and a stunning infinity pool on the lakeside. The abundance of activities available will keep your kiddies entertained, whilst you can sip on cocktails in the summer sun in the pool's bar and restaurant, the Thumersbach Beach Club.

Fly down a summer rollercoaster

  • Maisi Flitzer Rollercoaster: The Maisi Flitzer Alpine Rollercoaster is open all year round, and is bound to be a hit with your children. The rollercoaster is in Kaprun, just a short drive from the Landhaus Begrner Alm chalet, so it's an easy afternoon activity for your family.

  • Timoks Alpine Roller Coaster: The Timoks roller coaster in Fieberbrunn is part of the Timok's Wild World family & leisure park, which is a great destination in general to entertain your family. Whilst there, the summer rollercoaster is of course a must, but there are also plenty of other things for your family to enjoy, including a forest rope park, water games and adventure playgrounds.

Get competitive at mini-golf

  • Wolfergut Mini-golf: Just a short walk from the chalet is Bruck's very own adventure golf course, with 12 holes. The facility consists of fun-filled challenges and obstacles that are sure to keep your family entertained for hours. Loop the loop tunnels, bridge crossings, and ponds are just a few features in this well-designed adventure golf course. Why not have lunch or dinner in the beer garden next to the golf course, or perhaps get the kids a tasty ice-cream at the end of your game?

Explore a themed hiking trail

  • Schmidoline's Trail: The Baptism of Fire-themed hiking trail has 15 different activity stations that offer exciting challenges and puzzles as well as climbing stations in the trees, slides and a flying fox. It's sure to be a highlight for children when on holiday in the area. The dragon's cave, dragon's castle and climbing ship will also get their imaginations running wild!

  • Ant Trail: Located in Bruck at an altitude of 1,533 meters, the Ant's Trail is an educational walk that is mentally stimulating yet also entertaining for children. The views of the Hohe National park are amazing, and the Moosealm restaurant at the end of the trail offers tasty treats for all ages.
